I am so sorry I haven't been around, I had to have a simple office surgery done and wouldn't you know it it got infected immediately and I ended up in the hospital for 6 days extremely sick.
It has taken me 4 weeks to regain most of my strength back and I still am not 100%.
I will be getting things ready for freebies for you all and getting new items in the shop for you as well.

I m so sorry I havent been around much, Between the loss of my mother, my daughter having her 1st child and me having knee surgery, life has just been more then I can keep up with it seems. I am slowly recovering from the surgery, but not as well or fast as I would like.

A terrible Loss

Saturday Sept 25th at 11:50 pm my Beautiful Mother passed away in my arms.
I cannot tell you the pain and anguish I am feeling now, I'm sorry I am away but it will take time to be able to function again. It has taken this long to be able to update and let you all know.
I have to see my Dr tomorrow about my knee, I trashed it about 5 weeks ago and could not have surgery because momma needed my help and care.
I will try to keep you updated on the progress of things and a very heartfelt thank you too all of those praying for my mom and my family.

This is a charity kit for Michelle - owner of Craftyscraps. She has had diabetes along time, until recently the diabetes has hindered the rest of her body. Struggles everyday with pain in her legs, her stomach, her eyes list goes on and on. Yet she never quits making for others. September 16th she had a consultation with Drs. to find out if she can be a candidate for a transplant. Let's see what we can do to help her out with the gas to the many Drs. maybe for groceries or just to say thanks for all you do for everyone else.

Le Sophisti-Scrappin' 2010 Summer World Tour
Are you ready for a six-week ride around the world? Starting in Sydney, Australia and ending in Paris, France, the Sophisti-Scraps Designers are taking you for a summer trip you won't forget! If you can survive the ride, that is! ;)

The top survivors in their respective size class (i.e. Full and Tagger) will each win $50 in Sophisti-Bucks! Second place will each receive $25, and $10 will be received by third. That's $170 in prizes up for grabs! Plus, you never know what we might throw in along the way. ;)

Here's how it works: Every Thursday for the next six weeks, beginning July 22, 2010, two of the Sophisti-Scraps Designers will have a free kit for you, themed for that week's destination - one page kit and one tagger kit. The price of your wheels is creating a tag or a layout (or both, if you're game!) with those free kits and posting your entry in our gallery, where our forum members and staff will vote on their favorites. The lowest number of votes will be eliminated from the contest. If you "survive," you'll continue on to the next destination, where you'll pick up new kits and paint the town all over again!

The last stop on Le Tour is Paris, France, which will be posted for download August 26, 2010. Winners will be announced September 2, 2010!

Now, for the particulars: You must pre-register for the contest by joining our forum. From there, either post in the Le Tour thread, or send us an email with your forum user name and let us know which contest you'd like to enter. Or both, if you've got the legs for it! ;)

From there, we'll give you access to the private Le Tour Riders forum, where your kits will be posted and you'll find other goodies waiting for you! Sign-ups must be received by Wednesday, July 21st.

The timeline will be as follows: Kits will be posted for download in the private forum each Thursday. You will have until Sunday to post your entry (or entries, if you're doing both contests). The voting polls will be open from Monday through sometime on Wednesday, so eliminations can be done before the next kits are released on Thursday, and we continue on to the next destination.

We'll also have related goodies in the store and forum, so anyone not entering the contest will still get a little vacation flavor. But you'll have to be quick, they'll change each week to correspond with our new destination! Anyone not riding doesn't have to stand on the sidelines. Feel free to join in the forum festivities! And you must be a forum member in order to vote!

Update on my Mom

We had an apt with mommas Pulmonary dr today, and he has called in hospice now. He said momma has a few months maybe and he thought it was really past time to have hospice in.
I knew this was coming sooner or later but when he said it I just cried. No matter how long you know or expect it the shock of actually hearing it is more then I can put into words..
I will be around as I have time, I am some kits ahead so I will release them as time allows, the freebies may slow down a bit Im sorry to say. But I will be spending even more time with momma, taking her places she wants to go before her time here is done. Please keep momma in your prayers and thank you all for your support and prayers.

Welcome to the Sophisti-bration! We're turning one on May 1st!

Like all good children, we demand a no-holds-barred party to mark the occasion. So welcome to our Sophisti-Diva Birthday Blog Train Bash!

The train departs on our fearless leader's birthday, May 15th. NSD and Mother's Day are approaching as well. We've got a scraption-packed May coming that'll have you saying "Mother May I" in no time!

If that doesn't say party, we don't know what would! A definite departure from our usual colors. We hope you'll find it fun, too. All contributions are welcome! Full-size, tagger-size, CU, whatever you'd like to make. Sign-ups close May 7th, previews are due by May 13th. The train will leave the party station on May 15th and run through the end of month.

We have lots more planned, as well. Get ready for a marvelous May! :)

April Freebie and Update

Im sorry I haven't been around my mom took a turn for the worse and the drs weren't sure she would make it another 2 weeks but thanks to some very strong medicines she is better now. The prognosis still isn't good for mom but I have her for a while longer and that's all that counts.

I wanted to say THANK YOU! to the people who have donated so far, your donations helped buy my moms medicine today and for that we are truly grateful.
Every day I have her here with me is a blessing and I thank you all for giving her a little more time.

Medicare rant !!

As most of you know my mom is sick with Cancer and she is on medicare with no supplement due to finances.
Today we went to get her 1st prescription of Tarceva for her chemo home therapy, her medicare only paid 2002.00 Mom's copay was 2324.69 she had to pay MORE then medicare paid. I don't know WHAT the government thinks but someone who receives less then 600 a month cannot afford such medicines. We cleaned out everything. So now we have to figure out where next months medicine money will come from. But its a damn shame you work all your life, pay medicare taxes and think medicare will provide for you in sickness when it DOESN'T at all. We had to even wait 11 days to see if they would pay on this medicine at all.
SO I know know to start putting back for old age because by the time I'm old enough to draw it there probably wont even be a medicare for the retired people.

As alot of you know my mother has cancer, Today we got bad news , despite 2 rounds of chemo and 35 radiations and RFQ-ablation, the cancer has spread and is in both lungs and her lymph nodes now. They have prescribed a Chemo pill treatment to try to slow it down, but we got a huge shock when we went to have it filled, she is on Medicares Humana plan, we have to wait for authorization to see if they will even cover this drug AND her copay is gonna be in the neighborhood of $5000.00 on 30 pills a month.
my husband and I together along with moms small social security check wont cover that and pay our daily living expenses, so If you feel it in your heart to donate it will all go towards moms medical expenses,And I thank you in advance no matter the size of donation, every penny counts. I am so sorry everyone the files were downloading and extracting ok then corrupted for some reason, I have reuploaded the file for you all!!

I may not be around for a few days or more, depending on how my moms procedure goes tomorrow. She has cancer and has had 2 rounds of chemo and done 35 radiation treatments, last week they did a radio frequency ablation and tomorrow they have to remove fluid from her lung it is over half full. They are afraid her lung will collaspe. SO please pray for my mom her name is Laverne. Thank you to everyone for the prayers and well wishes.

Heres a grabbag of goodies Ive made for you, the only clue you get is they are full size and there are 16 pieces in all. Enjoy!!

We Made It!!

Sophisti-Scraps is finally back from the cyber jungle and lookin' snazzy! We clean up nice, if we do say so ourselves. Stop by and see if you agree! We also have some great new toys for you to play with, such as a new gallery, forum and shopping network!

Due to our recent move taking a bit longer than we'd expected, some of the toys are still works in progress, but there are enough in the sandbox to keep you occupied until the next shipment of Tinkertoys arrives. ;)
